This free event, sponsored by CASA Kane County and hosted by Elgin Community college, is open to all CASA Volunteers and program staff.  Training is provided by Community Corrections Institute, LLC, a training and consulting company dedicated to providing services specifically designed for staff safety among community organizations in the child welfare field.

Topics include:

• Dealing with aggressive behavior
• Creating situational awareness during child and family visits
• De-escalation techniques
• Recognizing danger behavior and the options for safe resolution
