CASA Kane County is hosting the “War on Wheels: Cruisin’ for CASA Kane County” bike ride, set for Sunday, Sept. 8.
This event invites cyclists of all skill levels to choose from three scenic routes — 10, 35 or 65 miles — each beginning and ending at Sammy’s Bikes in St. Charles.
Whether you are an experienced cyclist or a casual rider, your participation helps ensure every child in the foster care system finds a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.
After the ride, a celebratory gathering awaits all participants. Riders will have the opportunity to mingle, share their experiences, and enjoy a variety of complimentary bites and refreshments provided by an on-site food truck, perfect for refueling after the ride.
Glen Galloway, owner of Galloway Consolidated Holdings and founder of War on Wheels, shared, “My wife Debra and I believe in standing up for the most vulnerable members of our community. That is why we are proud to be sponsoring ‘War on Wheels: Cruisin’ for CASA Kane County.’ This event not only raises crucial funds but also draws much needed attention to the challenges faced by children in the court and foster care system.
“Supporting local causes has always been a cornerstone of our family’s and company’s values, and we’re honored to contribute to CASA Kane County’s vital work in protecting and advocating for these children,” Galloway said.
Group 1 (65 miles) will depart at 7 a.m. at Sammy’s Bikes, 602 S. First St., with Group 2 (35 miles) at 9 a.m., and Group 3 (10 miles) at 10:30 a.m. They will be welcoming back all riders at noon.
Organizers aim to raise $100,000 through this event, and with your support, they can achieve this goal. All proceeds from registration will directly support CASA Kane County’s mission.
The fee is $25 to $100. Scenic routes for all skill levels: 10 miles, 35 miles, and 65 miles.
Complimentary food and beverages for participants will be provided by a food truck on site. There will be hydration stations along each route to keep you refreshed. There will be support from Sammy’s Bikes, helping with minor repairs during the event.
Join in a day of cycling, camaraderie, and community support, all while making a lasting impact on the lives of children in foster care. Your participation and generosity can help CASA Kane County ensure that every child can thrive in a safe and loving home.
