More Ways to Give
Giving does not only precede receiving; it is the reason for it. It is in giving that we receive.

The community can support child advocacy efforts beyond direct giving through naming opportunities, in-kind donations, “giving without thinking” shopping programs and in selecting CASA Kane County as a beneficiary in the additional supportive programs below.
More Ways You Can Give
Every child deserves a safe, permanent home and the chance to reach their full potential. Your gift helps CASA Kane County advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect — giving them hope, stability, and a voice in court.
Below are the many ways you can make a difference.
Monetary Donations
The simplest and most immediate way to support CASA Kane County is through a
monetary gift.
You can donate by credit card, check, ACH transfer, or cash.
- Unrestricted gifts go toward CASA’s greatest needs and daily operations.
- Restricted gifts support a specific program or initiative you choose, aligning with CASA’s mission.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
A Donor-Advised Fund allows you to make charitable contributions through a community foundation or financial institution. You receive an immediate tax deduction and can recommend grants to CASA Kane County over time.
- CASA accepts DAF gifts in accordance with IRS guidelines.
- We encourage donors to share their name and contact information so we can properly acknowledge their generosity.
Gifts of Stock
Gifting appreciated stock is a smart, tax-efficient way to support CASA Kane County.
- We accept publicly traded securities through our broker, OnPath Financial via LPL Financial Services.
- The gift value is based on the average of the high and low share prices on the transfer date.
- We’ll provide an acknowledgment letter stating the type and number of shares and the transfer date.
To initiate a stock transfer, please contact us for brokerage instructions.
IRA Charitable Rollovers
If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA. This gift can count toward your required minimum distribution and may lower your taxable income.
- Please consult your tax advisor to ensure your rollover meets IRS requirements.
- CASA’s Board reserves discretion to accept or decline IRA gifts.
Gifts of Property
CASA Kane County can accept gifts of real estate or other appreciated property, subject to review and approval by our Board of Directors.
- A qualified appraisal and market valuation are required.
- Unless otherwise agreed, property is typically sold or liquidated within 30 days of receipt.
- CASA reserves the right to decline property gifts that carry environmental, financial, or legal risk.
Planned Giving
A planned gift is a meaningful way to create a legacy of advocacy and care for children in need. These gifts can be deferred or immediate, and often have tax and estate planning benefits.
Ways to give include:
- Bequests in your will or trust – Leave a specific dollar amount, percentage, or asset to CASA Kane County.
(Currently, unrestricted bequests are applied to our operating fund unless designated for the endowment.) - Charitable remainder trusts or annuities – Provide income to beneficiaries with the remainder benefiting CASA.
- Life insurance or retirement plans – Name CASA Kane County as a beneficiary.
All associated legal and transfer costs are the responsibility of the donor or estate.
If you’ve already included CASA Kane County in your estate plans, please let us know — we’d like to thank you and ensure your intentions are honored.
In-Kind Contributions
CASA Kane County welcomes in-kind gifts that directly support our mission. Examples include:
- Items for fundraising events like auctions or raffles
- Items for children served by CASA volunteers
- Supplies or equipment that support office or program operations
Please ensure items are new or unused and include their fair market value. CASA may decline in-kind gifts that cannot be effectively used, require excessive storage, or are not mission-aligned.

We value every donor and handle all gifts with transparency and care.
- CASA Kane County issues receipts in compliance with IRS regulations.
- Donor intent is always honored when consistent with our mission.
